About SevenGreen — the herbal, eco-friendly way to healthier hair
SevenGreen was born from a simple belief: hair care should be effective, gentle on your scalp,
and kind to the planet. We craft concentrated solid bars inspired by traditional herbal wisdom
and refined by modern scalp science to deliver real results with less waste.
SevenGreen began as a conversation between friends who were tired of choosing between
performance, safety, and sustainability. One of us had struggled for years with an irritable,
easily-flaky scalp that reacted to most liquid shampoos. Another had a background in herbal
formulations and a deep appreciation for the quiet power of plants. We asked a simple question:
what if a shampoo could be concentrated into a solid bar, free from excess water and harsh
fillers, and loaded instead with well-studied botanicals?
We tested dozens of lab batches, adjusting the ratios of plant oils, clays, and
actives until we reached a bar that lathers quickly, rinses clean, and leaves hair with bounce
rather than heaviness. We listened to early testers with different hair textures, from straight
and fine to coily and dense, and we tweaked our process accordingly. The result is a bar that
respects the scalp’s microbiome, supports the skin barrier, and simplifies routines.
We’re not chasing trends. We’re building a ritual that feels timeless:
clean ingredients, measurable benefits, and packaging that makes sense in 2025 and beyond.
Early concept art that shaped our first launch.
2) The Problem We Set Out to Solve
The modern shampoo aisle is crowded with oversized plastic bottles filled mostly with water.
Many formulas depend on aggressive surfactants to create instant foam, then compensate with heavy
silicones that artificially smooth the hair while building residue over time. Add synthetic fragrance
and you have a product that smells clean but can leave the scalp stripped and reactive.
Customers told us they were washing more often, not less, chasing freshness that didn’t last.
✓
Scalp stress: Over-cleansing disrupts the acid mantle and weakens the skin barrier.
✓
Residue & dullness: Silicones mask damage but reduce volume and repel moisture.
✓
Waste: Bulky plastic, high shipping weight, and product diluted with water.
Our answer is a concentrated solid bar: you add the water in the shower, not in the factory.
That simple shift lets us prioritize botanicals and gentle cleansers that respect both scalp and planet.
3) Science, Herbs & How They Help
Balanced cleansing: surfactants that play nice
We blend coconut-derived cleansers chosen for mildness and foam quality. The target pH of the bar is
slightly acidic to match the scalp, supporting a healthy microbiome. Instead of relying on silicones,
we use light emollients and conditioning polysaccharides that rinse clean yet leave strands smooth.
Hero botanicals (why we chose them)
Polygonum Multiflorum (He Shou Wu): a classical root revered in East Asian traditions. While herbal
history isn’t the same as clinical proof, there’s good evidence for its antioxidant capacity. We include
a carefully extracted fraction at a cosmetic level to support scalp comfort.
Zingiber Officinale (Ginger): warming, aromatic, and known for soothing sensations. In our bar it’s present
as a standardized extract alongside a low-allergen essential oil fraction for a fresh rinse-off feel.
Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea): catechin-rich leaf that brings polyphenols. We select a decaffeinated extract
to minimize sensitization risk while keeping antioxidant benefits.
Panax Ginseng: used traditionally to “awaken” the scalp. In rinse-off form, ginseng contributes more to sensory
vitality than long-term growth claims—but users consistently report a clean, energized feel.
Mentha Piperita (Peppermint): a small dose adds that “ahh” moment without overwhelming the senses; we calibrate
carefully to avoid post-rinse tightness.
No to the usual suspects
Our formulas are free from SLS/SLES, silicones, parabens, phthalates, and artificial dyes. We fragrance
with a minimalist blend designed for rinse-off—fresh, green, and clean.
Dense, fine foam that rinses fast and leaves no heavy residue.
4) How We Make Each Bar
Small-batch precision
Every batch starts with weighing the dry and liquid phases to the gram. We hydrate botanicals in a
controlled environment to preserve actives. The surfactant matrix is heated gently, then combined with
conditioning phase and extracts at predefined temperatures to protect sensitive compounds.
Pressing, curing, testing
The warm dough is pressed into molds that create our signature triangular profile—easy to hold, quick
to dry. Bars rest under low humidity to reach the right hardness, then we test for pH, moisture loss,
and weight consistency. Random bars are stress-tested for lather, breakage, and rinse feel.
Safety first
We follow cosmetic GMP guidelines: sanitized tooling, ingredient traceability, and batch records. Our
packaging line is optimized to minimize touch points while keeping materials recyclable.
Lightweight cartons, no plastic bottles, and shipping-friendly design.
Customers describe a clean that lasts. Because there’s no heavy residue, hair air-dries faster and
styles hold better. Most people find they can wash less frequently within two to three weeks, once
their scalp rebalances from traditional liquid formulas.
✓
Fast-rinsing foam that doesn’t cling to lengths.
✓
Light volume without crispiness or squeak.
✓
Fresh green scent designed for rinse-off, not room-filling perfume.
✓
One bar, many washes—easy to take on flights with zero liquid hassle.
Tip: let the bar dry on a draining dish between uses. It’ll last longer and stay tidy.
6) Sustainability & Footprint
A typical liquid shampoo is up to 80% water packaged in a large plastic bottle. By concentrating into a solid
bar we reduce water in manufacturing, cut shipping weight, and remove the bottle entirely. The carton is
recyclable paper from responsibly managed sources with vegetable-based inks.
Less water, less weight
Logistics matter. Lower weight means lower transport emissions per unit. It also means you’re not paying
for water that your shower can supply instantly.
Material choices
We avoid mixed plastics and laminates that are hard to recycle. Wherever possible, we design for
single-material streams. Our goal is to keep packaging light without compromising shelf protection.
No animal testing
We do not test on animals and require the same from our raw material suppliers.
Continuous improvement
We publish batch notes and invite feedback. If a change improves performance or footprint, we adopt it.
7) Social Impact
Beauty can be a force for good. A portion of profits supports community initiatives in green education
and responsible waste management. We also donate product to shelters and travel kits where a compact,
leak-free bar makes daily care easier.
Transparency pledge: we’ll share annual summaries of donations and impact partners on this page.
8) Our Name & Logo
The leaf, the circle, the character for “green” — a simple symbol for renewal.
“Seven” nods to the week — a rhythm of care you can maintain — and to the many dimensions of healthy hair:
scalp, strand, strength, shine, softness, style, and sustainability. “Green” is our commitment to safer
choices and lighter footprints.
The circular mark holds a stylized character for “green” with a leaf accent. It reminds us to design
with nature as a partner, not an afterthought.

11) Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace my liquid shampoo?
Yes, it’s designed as your primary cleanser. Some people rotate with a clarifying wash monthly; most don’t need to.
Will it work for oily hair?
That’s where it shines. Gentle surfactants and a rebalancing pH help reduce the over-wash cycle that keeps oil coming back.
Curly or coily hair?
Plays well with curls. Because it doesn’t leave heavy silicones, your stylers can do the defining without fighting residue.
How long does a bar last?
Typically 40–60 washes. Let it dry on a draining dish to extend life.
Is the scent strong?
Fresh and green in the shower, minimal after rinsing. We avoid heavy, lingering perfume.
12) Ready to switch to solid?
If you’re curious about how it feels to cleanse without the bottle and without the heaviness,
try our flagship bar. Give your scalp two weeks to adjust — most people notice calmer skin,
better volume, and hair that behaves with less effort.
